Minnesota: And it was very good.

Thursday after work, I flew from sunny, warm Texas to snowy Minnesota for a few days!

It was cold, white and lovely.

Get ready for a ton of pictures.

We began our (rather my) trip to the Minnesota History Center in St. Paul. We learned about Minnesota history (obviously), specifically about Minnesota and the Civil War, along with an exhibit on many different moments in history that have shaped the state of Minnesota.

Here is a picture of the replica of Charles Lindbergh's first airplane "Jenny". This plane flew over Minnesota specifically to drop political leaflets supporting his father's unsuccessful US Senate campaign.

Now, my favorite exhibit: Minnesota during the post-World War II period.

Baby Boom!

I wish we had these at work!

I just had to take a picture of this nursing/cough drops ad. Although, I don't really like what it says!

Despite it being old, it was pretty accurate on my weight!

Candy is super expensive nowdays. ;-)
The next day, we drove to Grand Portage, Minnesota. We were about 1 mile away from Canada. I am still not sure what inspired us to drive up there. Maybe our randomness. You should probably know we love driving to and exploring new towns as well as hiking! However, the drive up there was lovely.

I couldn't help but praise God the entire way for His creation. I can't even fathom how heaven will look like!

Greg and I also conversed about how creation speaks of the glory and magnificence of God and how small we really are in this world. It was a humbling experience.

Lake Superior
We climbed up this huge rock ON Lake Superior. It was very windy, snowy and slippery. My nurse "safety first"  mind was not very comfortable, but it was so worthy.

After that, we went hiking! Isn't it beautiful? My eyes just stared in awe of it all.

Beginning of hiking trail.

There was a special view for us at the end of our hiking trail.

Frozen waterfall

Canadian side

He is so patient with my picture taking.

On this picure, you can see the USA and Canada separated by just a few inches of snow/ice.

Trying to take a picture of us and the waterfall. I found out that it is so difficult with a huge camera and cold weather.

Can you spot him? He was so alert to our every move!
As we were heading back to the car, Greg had a little accident. ;-) He is ok now!

I hope you enjoyed the pictures!

Greg - I am looking forward to the next adventure with you. I love you. I am so grateful.

Much Love,

  2. Thank you for commenting Ana! Yes, it was very very snowy. I seriously hadn't seen so much snow in my life until now. We don't get as much (more like nothing) over here. ;-) But I definitely love it and love the cold weather. I just love the fact that you have pinetrees outside your window!! How are your days going? I hope you are doing good!
